Chicago newspaper correspondent and author. James O'Donnell Bennet was born in Jackson, Michigan in 1870. He was a war correspondent during the Spanish war, dramatic and literary critic of the Chicago record-herald, later on the Chicago tribune, and won fame as correspondent in the World War.
